Visitor visa Canada or TRV is an official document showing that you meet the requirements of entering into Canada. However, depending on your country of citizenship, you may need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead.
Visitor visa Canada is called a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). That is to say, it is a sticker document in your passport that you receive after your application is approved. To clarify, majority of travellers need a TRV or eTA to enter into Canada. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issues the visitor visa at their inland or overseas offices.
For one applicant, TRV application processing fee is $100. The biometrics fee is $85 (if applicable). Further, if you need eTA not TRV the application fee is $7.
Processing time varies from country to country and office to office. Ensure your application is complete and accurate for a faster processing time.
On a visitor visa, most visitors can stay up to 6 months. A border service officer will decide how long you can stay in Canada. You can apply for extension if needed.
Children below 18 years of age will need additional documentation. Both parents need to provide a letter of authorization. Also, an adult custodian is needed.
